Meeting Georgia.

IMG_0670

Hattie was so excited about Georgia, as you will see in these pictures.  That excitement is still going strong 7 weeks later.

Elna looks a little more timid in most of these pictures, but she was just kind of reverent about the whole thing.  She was very excited, and is still very helpful and sweet with Georgia!

I love the girls’ expressions in each of these pictures—Harriet’s smiling eyes on the left, and Elna’s love on the right.  So in love!

First picture as a family of FIVE!  This picture was taken in front of the of hospital.  We left the hospital about 12 hours after having Georgia.  I decided sometime after having Harriet that I wouldn’t stay in the hospital for the full 2 days again—I don’t love my hospital stays.  The beds are uncomfortable, I don’t love how the nurses wake me and baby to take vitals, and I don’t care for the food.  So, why not just go home?  Well, I learned why this time—it’s a lot of work.  I might have enjoyed a hospital stay, bad food, lack of sleep, and all.  Or next time I will stay in a hotel for a few days!

I didn’t love the lighting at the hospital so I tried to get some better ones at home.

Later that day, Barbara, DeWin and Chris came over to meet Georgia:

Two of Georgia’s namesakes.  George DeWin and George Christopher.

Hattie’s face in each of these pictures makes my heart happy.  She LOVES babies!  And she was anticipating Georgia’s birth with so much excitement.  She is so in love with her!

Georgia and her wonderful Grandma Fae!

So many pictures—I’m obviously obsessed with this new girl of ours.  She’s such a dream!

Putting Georgia to sleep with the help of her older sisters.  My new life—and I love it!

  1. love that first picture of you and the girls together. also, i had the same feelings on hospital stays. after madeleine and diane, i thought, "i hate staying in the hospital, i wish i could just have the baby and go home right away." (i couldn't with any of our kids because i was strep B positive and didn't get enough time on antibiotics during labor, so i had to stay a full two days). by jonathan, though, i actually enjoyed the hospital stay and didn't mind a couple days of rest before heading home.
