June little things

So much standing.  She doesn’t need assistance from furniture—she just pushes herself up, uses her strong quad muscles, and is suddenly standing.  She does it all the time and we love it!  So much cheering from her fans!

I spy Elna!  June is our big month for raspberry picking.  We picked so many this year!

We spent an afternoon with friends (Dulsanna and Ian, Angie and kids, Cami Paul, and Janae (friend of Dulsanna))  at a beach on the Columbia River.

These apple eating pictures make me laugh!

For Elna’s birthday we gave her her own little rolling pin and small bread pans.  I let her make two loaves now every time I make bread.  She has watched me do it so many times that she needed no instruction or help—she did great!

Such concentration!

We played with makeup.  It was a hit!

Elna rocked her primary talk in church.  She did it all by herself (with these picture cue cards) and she did everything we practiced: she was loud, she looked up, she was clear, and she didn’t talk too fast.  She sang “I am a Child of God” at the beginning of her talk, and I felt the spirit so powerfully (in the form of tears) because she is such an amazing little daughter of God!

We went to Chad Baron’s birthday party at the splash pad.  Harriet’s little bum!

Warming up after playing in the splash pad.

Reading together at Grandma’s house—I love it when they play well together.

Always looking for the perfect piece of land to build on someday.  We really wanted to put an offer on this land, but didn’t.

Hydrangeas

Elna picked all of these hydrangeas for me and proudly came in to show me.  She left about 2 inches of stem at most on each, so it was a bit of a challenge to vase them all, so we put them in shallow bowls instead.

IMG_4932

In the picture above she is holding one big hydrangea, and after I took the picture she said “I’m going to hold this one on my wedding day” And then after a pause: “I’m going to have 9 children, Mom.”

IMG_4895

This hydrangea bush started out as a pretty small potted plant about 5 years ago.  I dream of my home being surrounded by these some day.  So beautiful!

IMG_4898

I love how she is trying to fit them all in her stroller.

So many hydrangeas!  We put them on almost every surface of our house—our house looked so beautiful!

I just can’t help it

They were matching, so I got out my camera—I just couldn’t help it!

When your 1 year old has just learned to stand and is standing on top of a little picnic table, I think you’re supposed to take her off…not take a couple pictures.

The pictures are a little Georgia heavy because I am constantly trying to get happy pictures of her.

And now for a bunch of pictures of all three—I’m not in the mood to pick which ones to get rid of, so I’m just keeping them all.  Some day when my littles aren’t so little I’m pretty sure I will be so grateful to be able to see every one of these—the way Hattie looks at Georgia and puts her arm around her, how Elna is so easy and helpful, how Georgia just beats to her own drum, and cute Hattie crossing her legs.
