The third week of July we spent in Angels Camp, CA with Brian’s family.
Elna had tons of fun with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Sharing Grandma’s arms with her cousin Callie at Costco Helping Grandma make enchiladas with Callie & Jace
Eating spaghetti from Grandpa’s plate. I love how she’s standing on his feet.
On one of our first days there we visited a museum and panned for gold:
Elna seemed to love it
Another day we went to a nearby lake:
Wednesday morning we played t-ball. This was also the morning Brian got really sick. That put a damper on his next few days.
While Brian stayed home sick, we all went to another museum to see a big piece of gold. I wish I remember more about it. I spent most of my time chasing Elna around. Having a toddler doesn’t lend very well to learning much at museums.
I love this picture of Barbara and three of her boys. She loves her boys so much and is such a great mom to them.
On Thursday we went to Mercer Caverns. The adults (minus DeWin & Barbara who watched our children) took a tour of these amazing caves. I would say this was the highlight of what we saw at Angels Camp. The cavern is completely under ground, so we climbed down some narrow and steep stairs 160 feet (16 stories). It was pretty cold (55 degrees), but felt so nice since it was so hot outside.
And on Friday we spent some time in an old western town:
Grandpa sharing his licorice rope with Elna.
A Harris tradition is to take these old western photographs. I think Elna was confused.
The Harris boys.
Waiting for our stagecoach ride.
We spent time in the pool as much as possible. Elna loved it!
We had a great time! I married into the best family!
