I really wanted to have our baby before June for insurance reasons, so I was doing everything in the book to try to have her early—4 mile walks at a very fast pace and mostly uphill, raspberry leaf tea, lots of pineapple, bouncing on a stability ball, and taking lots of Evening Primrose oil (which I was the most hopeful about, and which really did help progress me along, but not enough in the end), and more. Because I thought I would have her any day, we had lots of treats and last celebrations to celebrate our “last night before the baby comes” hopes.
We made lots of trips to Frenzi for frozen yogurt. This was one of them. We took the girls in their jammies, thinking it would be nice to be able to put them right to bed when we got home, but they were covered in sticky frozen yogurt by the end, so we had to change them anyway.
Elna loved helping Brian put together the new dresser in the nursery.
The day before I was actually induced we decided to make it all about the girls. We went on coin rides at the outlet malls, to Veggie Grill for dinner, and to Voodoo donuts. I love how Elna is getting her money out of her wallet in the picture above.
Yummy donuts at Voodoo.
I took this picture of me and my baby, knowing it was the last day she would be my littlest. I get a little teary just looking at this picture, knowing how I was feeling in those moments right before giving birth. She was so excited, but also didn’t really know what was about to happen and how her little world was going to be rocked. I love this baby of mine!
Another picture of my sleeping baby Harriet that I took the night before I was induced. I was having a hard time sleeping with all of my thoughts and checklist and knowing what was coming in the morning, so I went in to cuddle with this little sleeping babe, and I just cried and cried. So many feelings.
