Flag placement at the Willamette National Cemetery

Every year hundreds of scouts in the area come together and place flags at each of the gravestones in the Willamette National Cemetery.  In the past Brian has gone as a leader, but this year Brian wasn’t a leader in scouts and we decided to go all together as a family so our girls could feel the importance of Memorial Day and those who serve our country.

Brian helped the girls place flags and say the names of each of the soldiers.

The two pictures above and the two pictures below make me laugh—if you look at them in order, you see Brian showing Hattie how to put her hand on her heart, she does it, then shows Elna how to do it, and then looks up after her job is done.  Funny girl.

I am so grateful for those who serve our country and those who have died serving.  I am grateful for our country and the freedoms we have!
