We went down to the beach by the Sandy River with the Stevenson kids and had such a fun long afternoon. My girls were happy all day and I realized that we need to move to San Diego so we can do this all year long. My kids would be happy and I would be such a fun mom all year long if we lived somewhere warm.
You can see in the background that they have a lifeguard station up above. This is because there is some pretty swift water at this part of the river, but not right where my girls play. I still watch them carefully, but the lifeguards do recommend kids wear a life jacket. Elna and I floated down the river, so we wore life jackets for that. Then, because Elna was wearing a life jacket, a news reporter interviewed me and I made it onto a local t.v. station. (only about a 5 second clip) Interesting side note: Brian worked as a lifeguard here when he was a teenager.
Give my girls a bucket, sand, and some water, and they will be happy all day!
