Dying Easter eggs.  The girls loved it!

The Friday before Easter while I had a doctor appointment, the girls made and decorated Easter bunny cakes with Grandma.  She is so fun!  They thought it was pretty great!

The finished products were pretty cute!  Brian did this with his mom when he was a little kid too.

Elna’s primary teacher gave each kid a set of 12 Easter eggs with items in each egg that represented a certain part of the Easter week.  The week before Easter we opened a few each night and talked about them, and then we finished Easter morning.  We are so impressed with how much Elna retains from her primary lessons.  She knew what each of the items meant because her teacher had told her in her primary lesson.  She’s a bright little girl!

The girls and I made these cute little napkin rings out of a cut up egg carton.  Mostly they just helped paint.  They turned out pretty cute, I think.  We also made the yummy pudding cups for dessert over at Brian’s parents house.

General Conference was also on Easter weekend, so we spent time as a family watching that together.

Brian also painted the girls’ fingernails and toes during conference, which they always love.  He probably paints their nails a few times a month and I love it!

My birthday was on the Monday after Easter.  Brian already had Friday off because of Good Friday, and he also took Monday off for my birthday, so it was fun to have 4 days with him!  On my actual birthday we went to PF Changs, which I had been craving for months.  He also bought me a few new outfits and these mangos—I love, love mangos!  It was a perfect day!

  1. So amazed with Elna knowing all the important facts about the Easter story through the things in the plastic eggs! Mangos!! Yum! Lucky you didn't get Tom's taste buds for those!
