I took these pictures from one of Harriet’s first lessons. It all went downhill from there. She is a stubborn little thing when it comes to swimming—she refused to do most of the things she was supposed to do, and asked to get out of the pool a lot.
She loved the day they wore life jackets.
Elna in those goggles—they kill me! She loved swim lessons! She was by far the youngest in the class—she’s still 3 years and everyone else in the class are 5 and 6 year olds. She is a determined little swimmer, and can swim across the whole pool, but she also kind of looks like she’s going to drown sometimes. She doesn’t seem to be bothered by it though and works really hard and listens to her teachers well. We loved watching her!
Can you even stand the cuteness?
You can tell how young she is in this lineup because she’s so short compared to everyone else in her class even though she is very tall for her age.
She got really good at jumping this season!
This was Harriet’s last day of class—she only lasted about 15 minutes in the pool and then fussed until Brian took her out. It was a bad day for her as you can see from her bandages—she fell 3 times while we were at the park with friends, scraping her head, both knees, and her hand. Then right before swim lessons something happened to her finger too. Poor girl! We’ll try swim lessons again with her in a year maybe, but hope that swimming in our pool a lot this summer will help her like swimming more.
