We left for Fairfield early in the morning on July 24th.
We were cutting it close to closing time at the Jelly Belly factory, so we headed straight there upon arriving in Fairfield. Both girls did a lot of running/crawling around to get their pent up wiggles during the tour.
Grandma Elna and Benjamin met us there! After I made everyone stand in front of this festive van.
Elna loved reading with Grandpa.
Elna played with these train tracks and trains for a surprising amount of time. Hours and hours of time, with or without her “friends” (cousins).
Friday we went to the city:
Brian was asked by his company to interview a prospective employee in their San Francisco office, so we spent the first little bit waiting for him there and meeting some of his San Francisco coworkers.
On Saturday we went to Tilden Park:
These cute cousins are so fun and Elna loved having them in our car.
First we fed the cows celery. Neither girl was interested in doing it on their own.
Elna still talks about her “friends”—meaning, her Clark cousins.
Harriet, Jody, and Elna
Then we went on the merry-go-round. The girls really loved it!
Hattie was pretty nervous at first, but she got into it pretty quickly.
My sister, Annie, and her baby, Jody with me and Harriet.
Then we went on a fun little train ride.
The whole group of us that went to Tilden Park: Annie & Lance’s family, our family, and Rebecca and her three youngest children.
I just love these pictures I took of our girls after church on Sunday. We took many pictures during my childhood on this little brick wall.
I love how Hattie is sitting and how Elna is being such a protective big sister. These two have our hearts- completely!
Looks like a great trip!
