My mom came to meet Harriet and help (a ton!) a few weeks after Harriet was born. She was a huge help—we organized my cupboards/pantry, finished some things for Elna’s big girl room, held Hattie, and played with Elna and took her on errands. Thank you, Mom!

A little photo shoot with Hattie:

For my birthday Brian’s parents took us to dinner at Veggie Grill (my fav!)—it was their first time there and they were good sports to eat vegan—thanks Harrises!
With Papa // With Grandma Elna
Reading with Grandma.
Grandma read lots of books to her, taught her some shapes (including trapezoid—which she still knows!), taught her how to pretend eat, and worked on a few more colors with her. Funny story about colors—one night as we were bathing Elna, my mom asked her the color of something that was orange. I told my mom that she didn’t know that color yet, and right when I said that Elna said “orange” as clearly as I would say it. It was so cute! She also got “purple” down while my mom was here. Now she knows all of her basic colors: pink, blue, yellow, green, white, black, red, brown, purple, and orange (the order in which she basically learned them).
What cute pictures! It made my heart swell to see your mom! Thank you for this post.
