My mom came up a week before Harriet’s blessing to stay with us.  Elna loved reading books with Grandma Elna!

This isn’t Elna’s most flattering picture, but Brian took it when he picked her up from his Mom’s house one evening when we went out to dinner with my sister and her husband downtown.  She never falls asleep in her car seat—must have been exhausted!

She’s holding up a donut from Voodoo Donuts—we went there after eating out with Annie & Lance, and picked up for Elna for the next morning.  Voodoo makes vegan donuts.  Yum!

Annie stayed a week after Harriet’s blessing while Lance went on a business trip. 

One day we went she came to the zoo with us and Callie, Jace, Char, & Grandma Fae.

We had a really hot week—the girls had a hard time sleeping.  I finally stripped her down to a diaper and she fell asleep.

We have had a hard time with Elna staying in bed at night—lots of crying/screaming/banging on doors…and finally falling asleep at the door.  We’re all tired.

Elna!  These are a few of my very favorites lately.  She cracks us up (almost) all of the time!

We watch this video a lot, because it is seriously funny.  And it’s just so Elna!  You will laugh!

In the next one, Elna’s face cracks me up as she is trying to sound things out—it makes me laugh every time—I keep replaying it because it just makes my heart explode with love for this girl—look at her face at 4-6 seconds—I also love when she whispers Lance’s name because I’m whispering it.  That girl!

And another of Elna being a little confused with words—I’ve been trying to teach her how to say her full name.  It can be confusing when you also have Grandma’s with both of your names—Grandma Elna and Grandma Fae.  Funny girl:

Oh the sweetness of this little girl!  She is so well-natured and easy—such a blessing!

Is it just us, or is she really cute?  And so happy!

My grandma (my dad’s mother, who passed away a few years ago) made this dress for me when I was a baby.  Elna also wore this dress when she was about Harriet’s age—here is a picture of each of us wearing the dress:

At 3 months, Harriet:

--is an absolute delight!  She is happy almost always if she is awake.  She’s awake a lot, so she is happy even when she is tired.  She smiles all of the time and I love it when she smiles when she catches me looking at her. 

--has a cute little belly laugh and is very easily humored. 

--coos back as soon as we say anything to her.  We can have long conversations like this—love talking to her!

--is still not an awesome sleeper, but it’s been really hot here and we don’t have AC, so who can blame her?  She wakes up a few times during the night still, but we can usually get her to go back to sleep the first time she wakes up, so that I only feed her once a night.  It could be worse, but I wish it were a little better.

--has great head control and can push her head up high when laying on her stomach.

--rolls with the punches—what a nice way to be!  I could learn a thing or two from her! :)

We are absolutely crazy about her!
