The night before Brian’s triathlon we just thought we’d go to Blue Lake park to check things out and have fun at the splash pad and beach with the girls.
1 week old! Can you even stand how little she is and how much she has changed since these pictures!?
I got to hold this sweet girl the whole time. I love love love this newborn stage.
The next morning was Brian’s triathlon—
All ready to go!
Coming out of the water.
Starting the biking leg.
The very cutest cheerleaders!
Finishing bike.
The last 200 feet or so of the race are a slight uphill, so I told Elna to run as fast as she could up the hill with Brian to motivate him to finish hard. You can see her to the right of the man in orange. I had my big stroller with Hattie in it and I was wearing Georgia, so I couldn’t run with them, but suddenly right after the picture above Elna started to veer into the running trail with the other runners and I yelled for her to get off the trail, but she couldn’t hear me. The funny thing was that Brian’s mom was closer to the finish line and cheering her on and encouraging her to stay on the trial. Hopefully the other runners weren’t too bugged. Elna seemed pretty pleased with herself!
In Papa’s wheelchair.
Our family of FIVE after the race.
