Grandma Elna’s dress.

For the first few years of her life my mom lived in Germany while my grandpa was stationed there in the Army.  Her nanny was a lady named Frau Jaeger.  Frau Jaeger made (crocheted or knitted—I never know the difference) four or five darling outfits for my mom.  This is one of them.

  1. It's very cute! And it looks like this one is knit.

  2. Of course Diane would know that it was knit. That is so great. Another part of the story is that Frau Jaeger took apart old sweaters and clothes and re-used the yarn to make these baby clothes. So neat! Elna looks so cute.

  4. For some reason my google account hasn't been letting me post comments on your blog lately - not sure why. I will try again, though, because that little outfit is about the cutest thing I have ever seen! And the story behind it makes it even more cute and special. Elna looks adorable in blue.

  5. I don't think I noticed that she had blue eyes before this post. What a cutie and good for you keeping those cute clothes and finding them just in time for little Elna to wear them! Pres U would approve!
