A few miles above the swinging bridge is a beautiful waterfall that we hike to. As a teenager this was my favorite part of Yosemite. This was Brian’s favorite part as well! I wish we had gone more often during our week there.
Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures of either of us jumping. Brian jumped so many times. I jumped twice. I was fearless as a teenager, but have gotten more and more afraid of heights the older I get. Finally, Brian held my hand and jumped with me. The next time I was able to do it by myself.
Samuel, Randy, Debra, Mom, Ray, and Brian (where am I? I still haven’t jumped)
I finally jumped and made it into a picture.
You were very brave!
ReplyDeleteLucy, I just love reading all of your Yosemite posts. I don't know why, but I always get emotional seeing pictures of that place - and especially love the thought of us all taking our families back and continuing the tradition. We had so much fun there last summer - I wish we could have been there the same week as you guys!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Yes, you were fearless as a teenager! Just the other day, for some reason I was telling my kids about tandem bikes, and how I used to ride one at Grandma and Grandpa Linford's house with my cousin Lucy, and how she was always so brave and would go really fast and up and down curbs, and I was always like, "slow down, Lucy! I'm scared!" Anyway, they thought that was sooo funny.
I forgot to say I was so happy to see your picture of the waterfall - I really think that is my favorite place in the world, and I was so sad last summer because I was largely pregnant and didn't make the hike up to it.
