Pirate ships.

While Brian’s aunts, Regina and Leora were in town, we decided to go see some pirate ships that were in Stevenson, WA.

Elna really wanted to help get Georgia dressed, in an outfit that matched hers.  She did a fabulous job!

Happy girls on the drive there.  Elna practiced writing her letters all the way there.

Such a newborn here!

IMG_5911

We got there first, so we took a picture of the girls waiting for Grandma and her sisters to get there.

IMG_5913

There were supposed to be two pirate ships, but this the only one there.  Still, very fun to explore a bit.

About to go below deck.

IMG_5914

The girls were more interested in the pirates’ dogs than anything else, I think.

IMG_5915

The whole group, minus DeWin, who wasn’t able to get on the boat because of his wheelchair.

Matching girls at the restaurant we went to after the pirate ship.

Then we got ice cream in Cascade Locks.

Look at the drop of ice cream mid-air below her elbow!  And the ice cream all. over. her!  Ick!

Trillium Lake.

At the beginning of the summer during a Family Home Evening we made a list of all of things we wanted to this summer while Brian was home for 3 months.  We called it our Harris Family Fun List and we have loved checking things off of it.  One things on the list was Trillium Lake.  It is near Mt. Hood, and as you can see from the pictures, it was amazing!  It was a beautiful and warm day and even though there were plenty of people there, mostly it felt like we were the only ones there.

The girls loved going out on this blowup boat with Brian.  I stayed back with Georgia, who slept for at least half the time we were there.

IMG_5740

Can you believe that mountain and it’s reflection in the water?!  Some day I want to go up early in the morning on a still day and see it reflected perfectly in the water.

I lost track of how often Elna jumped off this rock.  She’s such a water girl and she’s brave!  When she wasn’t jumping she was swimming.

Or trying to warm up.

When we first got to Trillium Lake and we were looking for a place to set up for the day, we came across my midwife (one of my favorite people ever!) with some of her friends.  They were picnicking just a few spots down from us, and then later she went kayaking.  She is wonderful!  I miss her when I’m not pregnant!  (also, this is the only picture that shows other people that were at the lake.  This was just one side of the lake! But like I said before, it didn’t feel at all crowded)

IMG_5814

The water was surprisingly not too cold.  Even I went swimming!

Hagg Lake Triathlon.

IMG_5603

About to start!  Elna is wrapped up in that towel because we did not dress appropriately for the weather.  It was a little chilly.

IMG_5611IMG_5612

Cheering loudly!  I get so excited/emotional every time Brian runs or bikes by.  There’s just something about these races I love.  And I just feel so proud of Brian and all of his hard work training for these races!

These pictures of Brian and Harriet are so funny.  They are pretending to eat each other up.

Elna really insisted on going swimming after Brian’s race, despite how cool it was out.
