A morning at the temple.

The Portland temple visitor’s center had a story time focused on Easter.  The girls really enjoyed it.

I love the Portland visitor’s center—it’s small, but very kid friendly with several fun, interactive things for kids and adults to do and view.  They encourage the children to touch this beautiful Christus.

After story time the girls had a fun time walking around the temple grounds and playing near the fountain with friends we had met during story time.

Bonneville Dam.

On a rainy Wednesday in March we decided we needed to get out of the house, so we visited Bonneville Dam.

We started at the museum where we hoped to see fish in the fish ladders, but it wasn’t the best time of year for them, so we only saw a few. (In the past we’ve seen hundreds)

At the fish hatchery we had a lot more luck—the girls loved seeing so many fish!

The sturgeon were massive—like 7 feet long!

We topped off our excursion in the best way possible—with ice cream!

Playing with my camera.

I took all of these pictures in manual mode on my camera.  I’m getting better, but still have so, so much more to work on.

Harriet’s 2-year-old pictures.

We tried to get some good 2-year old pictures of Harriet at our house on her birthday, but we had better luck when we went over to Brian’s parents backyard.  She sure is cute!

Looking far too grown up.

Harriet is a blessing!  She is full of life and energy and love.  Her heart is kind and tender-hearted and she’s the  first to kiss and hug anyone in our home when we are hurt or sad.  She talks in full sentences and has been for months.  Some day I will have to do a post of all of the things she says.  She amazes us every day with the things that come out of her mouth.  It’s hard to imagine life without our sweet Harriet Joanne.  Oh, how we love her!!

Hattie’s birthday!

Birthday cake pancakes for the birthday girl!  They don’t look awesome, but they are actually pretty good!

After library time we picked up balloons and then Jamba Juice treats.

Then the girls helped me make a birthday cake before nap time.  I really want to never make a birthday cake again—they just never really turn out—I hope I remember by the next birthday.  This one looked okay in the end, but was very tricky to keep together as I was doing it.

When Brian got home I tried to get some 2-year old pictures of Hattie, with not much success:

The quality of these pictures (in auto mode on my camera) made me decide after this to finally start using manual mode on my camera.

When Brian got home we went over to Grandma and Papa’s house to celebrate Harriet!

She looks worn out!  I hope she had a good day and that she felt how much we love her.  She is such a light in our life!  She makes every moment so much better and we are lucky to have her!
