Harriet—5 months.

5 months old!

There’s not really one picture of both girls that is great, so I included a few that one or the other looks cute.

At 5 months, Harriet:

--is still eating twice during the night.  This is about to change…one way or another.  I’m pretty sure she was a better sleeper at 5 weeks old than she is at 5 months old.  Serious regression!

--is durable—she has fallen off the ottoman when I ran to get the door during the middle of a diaper change on the ottoman—yeah, I haven’t done that again.  She also takes Elna’s roughhousing like a champ, which makes her pretty tough if you ask me. 

--Is a happy little talker.  When she’s her very happiest she is growling.  It’s cute but probably a little disruptive in the middle of Sacrament meeting. 

--can still roll quite well from her tummy to her back, but has yet to figure out how to get back onto her tummy.  This has ruined her sleep (and ours!)  It takes a TON of work to get her to sleep.  It’s exhausting!  Between the two of us I feel like one of us is always up during the night.  We are doing a lot of rolling over practice during non-nap times. 

--has just barely started eating solids—banana and oat bran. 

--has the incredible ability to shoot her pacifier out of her mouth with such force that it seriously goes distances.  It’s hilarious! 

--is a total delight!  We are enormously blessed to have her sweet little spirit in our home!

Harriet the Houdini—I came in after 15-20 mins. of crying to find her on her back and completely out of the outfit (the purple sleeper above her head) that she was in when I put her down.

Much happier!

We walked down to Dairy Queen to get a treat for Elna because she had a great night of sleeping!  Harriet fell asleep on the way back.

Dinner with friends at Skamania Lodge—outside they had this bald eagle on show.

Brian and Kyle Summers—great friends as youth and still good friends // Kyle and Lindy Summers—visiting from Washington D.C.

Where Brian proposed 4 years ago this month.

At the Troutdale Summer Fest—poor Harriet got pinched or something by me right as this picture was being taken.  Oops.

Stacy had a booth at the fair showing her photography //  a filthy dirty little Elna

Brian spent several days tearing down the shed so that he can rebuild it.  His friend, Corey came to help one day // he squeezed in some pool time with Elna.

Elna was thrilled with her fun prizes from Brian’s aunts, Leora & Regina.  They come visit from South Carolina for a month each summer.  We miss them already!

Elna brought her Papa a treat and balloon to his office on his birthday—and serenaded him with a darling “Happy Birthday” song.

We went to dinner with Brian’s family for all of the July birthdays (DeWin, Chris, Vicki, Leora)  I love Harriet’s expressions here—swoon!

Brian’s aunt, Vicki, was in town for the week—fun to see her and catch up with her!
