Visitors!

David (my brother) and Chantelle, came to visit us at the end of September.  David is the brother just younger than me and I feel like we have always been pretty close.  He is such a great brother—interesting, witty, compassionate, and easy to get along with.  We had a fun time! 

First stop was Crown Point:

We also went to Bonneville Dam, Cascade Locks, a fun ice cream shop near Cascade Locks, and dinner at one of our favorite pizza place.  I must have gotten sick of taking pictures, because these are all I took.    

We hope they will come again and again.  Brian and I (and eventually Elna too!) really enjoy David and Chantelle!  Please come again!

Frau Jaeger dress.

When my mom was one year old in Germany, her babysitter, Frau Jaeger, made this dress (and others) for my mom out of wool that she had unraveled from other clothes.

When Elna turned one I put her in the same dress for a photo shoot—she wasn’t the best little model and I kept thinking I would do retakes, but now that she’s 16 months old, I think I’m just going with these ones:

Elna is obsessed with wearing sunglasses.  She will wear her sun glasses for hours at a time without ever taking them off.  It’s kind of hilarious to me for some reason. 

In both of these pictures Elna is doing kissing lips.  Sadly she has evolved from open-mouthed slobbery kisses which we really loved to the more traditional pursed- lip kiss.
