6 months!

Can you believe a half of a year has past since this sweet little lady joined our family?!

At 6 months, Elna:

-is “talking” more than ever.  Every day she seems to come up with a new sound—so much fun!

-loves interacting with almost anyone.  She tries to get people’s attention and once she does she starts “talking” to them.

-is sitting up all by herself.

-is eating some solids kind of.  She doesn’t ingest that much, but she sure likes to chomp and suck on pears, cucumbers, oranges, and sweet potato.

-has 2 full bottom teeth!

-does not like being on her hands and knees to do rocka rocka (however, 3 days into her 7 month she is almost crawling.  It happens so fast!)

-is not the world’s best sleeper.  (last night she woke up every 2-3 hours)

-has night terrors every night between 10-12 p.m.  It’s so sad.  (any ideas on what to do about these?)

-loves sitting in her bumbo on the counter while I cook or do dishes.  She’s happiest with a few plastic lids or measuring spoons.

-has the most charming personality and smile.  She has even started smiling for the camera—a toothy, wide smile with cute squinty eyes.

Elna is 19.12 lbs. (97%), 27 1/4” tall (93%) with a head circumference of 43 1/2 cm (79%)

We are in love!

Elna & Grandpa Clark

On one of the days we were home my friend, Rachel Terry, flew into SF to visit her aunt.  We spent several hours together at Chipotle so Brian and Elna could meet her.  Rachel is one of my favorite people!

Elna rarely snuggles or falls asleep on my shoulder—she must have been exhausted!

I love how her lip curls down when she’s sleeping.  She’s as sweet as they come!

On Thanksgiving we went to a fancy restaurant for a yummy buffet meal with my Grandpa Clark and other extended Clark family members that I didn’t know.

Brian likes to blog too.

This post was written by Brian.  Sometimes he likes to embarrass surprise me by posting something without my knowing.  This one was a little embarrassing because he chose photos I might not have used and used words like “seductive.”  But really I can’t complain, because he’s just telling me he loves me in one of his many ways and I’ve never been loved better by anyone.

Grandma dress photo shoot.

While we were home in Fairfield for Thanksgiving (post to come soon) I found this dress that I wore as a baby.  My Grandma Clark made it for me.  Elna wore it to church this past Sunday and looked pretty cute, so we took some pictures.  Believe it or not, this is a small fraction of the pictures I took…
