Kids triathlon.

Elna participated and completed her first kid triathlon.  She did great and loved it!  It was hot, but fun!

I made these posters for her cheerleaders to hold!

Setting up transition area.

All ready to go!

One of the best moments from the day was when Brian and I looked down at Elna, who had decided to put her own sunscreen on.  She had no idea she was completely caked.  So funny!

Cap on and ready to start her swim!

IMG_8264

Elna and I to the right of the waver in the middle.  She was in a 6 and under group, so there were just a ton of little kids and adults—a parent had to be with their child triathlete the entire time.  I had worn my swimsuit, so that person was me.  The swim was supposed to be 25 meters, but was less than that I think.  I wish it had been a little longer, actually.  It was so short!

A pretty grainy picture of Elna waving at Brian.

The kids came out of the water through the same archway that adults usually do, which was kind of fun.  She didn’t wear a timing chip this time, but she will when she’s 10 if she keeps doing these races.  It was a very very low pressure event.

Transition from swim to bike.

And she’s off for her bike ride—a mile.

Finishing her bike portion.

Getting ready to run!  The run was 1/4 mile.

She did it!

With her medal!  So proud of this girl!

Three children, three places—couldn’t resist.  Georgia’s smile!

IMG_7026

Hopefully this is the first of many for Elna!  And I hope she inspires our other girls to want to be active and do triathlons too, because a family that tri (or tries) together, stays together!  Ha! We love triathlons!

Sous chefs

IMG_8235

Brian came home from work to four chefs in the kitchen.  I love when the girls want to help me.

IMG_8225IMG_8226

I also get a kick out of the series of pictures he caught above and below—Georgia somehow grabbed my spatula and got my forehead with sauce.

Triathlon training

IMG_6887IMG_6889

I love when her tongue comes out when she’s concentrating super hard.

Blurry running pictures, but too cute to omit.

She was so excited for her triathlon and loved practicing running and biking as often as possible!  I love how committed she is!

Ballet

IMG_6800

Elna spent most of her quiet time Sunday on this chair, looking through the peephole, waiting for her ballet shoes to be delivered.  Excited doesn’t quite describe how ready she is for ballet to start in a few weeks.

IMG_6811

The ballet slippers came!  And so did their leotards, skirts, and tights.  I love how they are putting their shoes on in the same way and that even their bodies mirror each other.

Just practicing her positions with Angelina Ballerina!  When she pulled out this book and started practicing, I swooned.  I was obsessed with Angelina at her age and now she is too—kind of a dream.  Dying from the sweetness!

Stake Luau

IMG_6695IMG_6700

Our stake had a summer luau party put together by the Tongan ward— it was a warm evening with delicious food, talented hula dancing from members of the Tongan ward, and so many people!

We hardly saw our older girls because they played with these cute boys the whole evening.  Jillian isn’t in our stake, but her parents are in our ward and were helping put the event together, so she came—so glad she did!  We had a great night!

100 Easy Lessons

IMG_6511

She did it!  We started over a year ago and took a huge break (at least 6 months) and just started again a couple of weeks ago, with about 25 lessons left, doing 2-4 lessons a day.  She’s officially a reader!

IMG_6500

We celebrated finishing by going to her favorite restaurant!  I’m proud of her for accomplishing such a big goal!

Harriet wanted to be part of our picture too!  These girls (and Georgia) sure make me a happy mama!

Street of Dreams

Brian and I love going to Street of Dreams to get ideas for the home of our dreams some day.

IMG_6224

This house was amazing, and cost approximately 4 million to build.  Wowzers!

IMG_6229IMG_6217

The older girls were pretty great, but Georgia burned out towards the end.  Remind us next year to not bring our children.

IMG_6238

This pool was beautiful!

IMG_6241

The cutest!  I’ll never get over it!

I loved this walk in pantry (right) with counter space to work.
