This is how we train our girls to love water! We take our babies in the shower us from day one, and when they are old enough they love sitting in a bumbo while we shower.

We cuddled a lot in December when she refused to sleep in a crib. I loved the cuddling and I was very, very tired.

Early in December we did a little sleep training with this girl and it was a wonderful week that she slept. And then she got a cold…and it all went downhill from there--- oi vey!

A cookie exchange party with friends. Love these girls!

Georgia’s poor legs after a bunch of immunizations.

Quiet time dreaminess.

Brian about to go for a run—can’t remember why they’re all cozy on the couch.

I’m not sure what I’d do without Brian Sunday mornings! (update: I know now! He has meetings before church this year from 7:30 until church starts at 9:00…and without him, I’ve been late each week to church. Like, 20 minutes late. So not like me. I really need to figure it out, because I hate being late!)

Elna drew lots of nativity scenes in December, but this was the original one. She drew it during primary. Most kids drew Christmas trees and Santa Clauses, and when I came over to Elna, she was drawing a nativity—all her idea! I think it’s the cutest! Joseph, Mary, and the baby Jesus inside the manger, with a star on top. In front of the manger is three wise men and three camels. She loves to draw! And I love seeing what she comes up with!

Senior primary (top) and Junior primary (bottom)—I love these kids! (especially that Elna girl!)

More sleeping in my arms.

“Take a picture and send it to dad’

The best view.

Hatite was having a hard time going to sleep--we took about 10 of these, and in every one Hattie was closing her eyes like this because of the flash.

Our matching expressions make me laugh.

Where’s Hattie?

This HUGE tree fell from the park into the fence that divides our yard from our neighbors yard. Surprisingly I heard something, but didn’t realize what it was until a few minutes afterwards when I was walking by the window and saw this. This picture doesn’t do it justice. The tree is huge!

The park services were extremely helpful! Within 30 minutes of calling they were at my house. They called it a “red hot emergency” (ha!) and called a tree removal place that was out super fast too. The reason it fell was because we had so much rain in such a short amount of time that the ground became so saturated that the roots weren’t strong enough to hold the tree up any longer.

Some quiet time reading.

Poor sick Harriet.

The only good thing about sick kids is the cuddling.

Our favorite neighbor, Sister Summers, came to visit the girls again, to read Christmas stories. The girls adore her! So do I!

Elna is really just the best big sister!

Our family room looked like this for a few days right before Christmas while we (mostly Brian, but I was very helpful and did a lot of the cutting in) re-painted it. I’ve been wanting it a lighter color from almost the day we moved in, and am so happy it’s lighter now. We first painted it a bright white, which we quickly realized was much to bright, and then painted over a creamier/greyer white. I like it so much better!

The girls (and us!) love their babysitter.

She brought them each a Christmas gift—so thoughtful! They wer every pleased!

Up all night with this girl, and tired. But when I am old, this is the memory I want to have of myself and my days – loving and holding my babies tight. (Also, her neck roll—don’t want to forget that!)

Getting Blue Star Donuts (the best I’ve ever had!) with Jared and Deborah while they were in town.

Brian’s brother, Chris, treated the adults to the Nutcracker the day after Christmas. I sent Elna in my place because I needed to be home to feed Georgia and I thought Elna could use a special date with Brian. I asked Brian to take a good picture—I thought he would get a picture with a Nutcracker sign, but this was even better! Brian was amazed that such a short ballerina could be so tall suddenly when standing on her toes.

Setting up the cultural hall for Jared and Deborah’s open house.

I do a LOT of this with my girls—so glad Brian got a good picture of it in action.
