I love how well these two get along! Elna is generally very kind to Harriet and Harriet adores Elna!
Hattie loves climbing up on this chair by herself.
You would think it was her birthday.
But it was actually Brian’s Uncle David’s birthday
She claps when we sing “If you’re happy and you know it”. It’s cute!
Swim class—she LOVES it! She was so excited the first day, as we walked into the pool building together she held my hand, looked up at me and said, “Mommy, I love you.” Then she skipped from the locker room to the pool. It’s once a week for 10 weeks and we are loving every week! She is absolutely fearless and having the best time!
Brian took these pictures of Harriet asleep at his feet during church. She must have been exhausted because she never does this kind of thing.
My girls love watching the bread knead in the mixer. While I was trying to capture a picture of them mesmerized, and holding Hattie, she somehow grabbed a handful of dough from the mixer. Funny girl.
Can you see the bandaid on her upper lip? She fell flat on her face walking home 3.5 miles from Les Schwab with Brian on a Saturday morning. I would have picked them up, but Harriet was asleep and Brian said he had to a few things near by, but he tricked me and decided to just walk home. It was rainy and Elna was pretty worn out when she got home. So was Brian because he held her for a lot of the walk.
Cute little girls at the back of the Sunday School room. These girls’ mom’s are ready for nursery!
Brian had classes in Portland, so we took MAX downtown to meet him for dinner after he was done. The girls loved the ride!
Elna took these pictures of us at dinner. Not bad.
Our friend Stacy sends Elna an envelope full of bandaids each week. Elna obviously loves them! I love how she put a bandaid on each of her crayons. Funny girl. We find bandaids everywhere.
These girls always seem to be in pajamas--I don’t only take pictures of the girls in the morning…we just wear our pajamas all day long, unless we go somewhere.
Jamba Juice- yum!
We went on a walk with these cute girls.
We had a pretty bad wind storm—a week straight of 35 mph or higher winds with gusts up to 50 & 60 mph. Crazy! Our roof decided to come off. This was what we woke up to after the first night of wind. Picture four times this by the end of the week. The back half of our roof basically blew off. In the past, just small patches have blown off and Brian has patched them up, but we obviously had to get a new roof. Luckily insurance paid for half of it.
I’ve wanted a black roof since we moved in. Bye bye blue roof!
This is the outfit Elna put on to be able to help dad out under the house and also outside on that first day when the shingles blew off.
Brian had to go under the house to wire the electricity for the shed.
Elna’s a braver girl than I! Although with a Daddy like Brian I can understand her feeling safe down there. She really loves him and trusts him.
Family trip to the dentist (Dad)—Elna getting her teeth cleaned by the hygienist.
Elna and Papa.
Harriet tagged along.
Sometimes E insists on keeping her backpack on.
These girls LOVE bread. Between them and Brian I have to make 5 loaves every week. We do usually give at least one of them away, but still! That’s a lot of bread! What am I going to do when I have 5 kids?!
A rare moment where Elna was content reading her own book next to me while I read my own book. I dream of more moments like this.
Hair cut in the highchair while watching Curious George.
She is such a helper—she loves to squeegee the glass in the shower—something I hate doing.
After church in her pretty dress from Christmas 2013. It’s a size 3T and she isn’t even 3 yet, and it’s already up to her knees. I bought her a 5T for Christmas 2014. Tall girl!
I love crawling bums!
Brian’s Uncle David got this picture of the girls with their Grandma Fae when she took them to Costco. They had a blast with Grandma Fae and Uncle David! And apparently we are drawing out Christmas as long as we can by continuing to wear red and green. And pajamas at Costco? I need an intervention.
I asked Elna if she needed me to get the door because she had her hands full taking out the recycle and she said, “no thanks. I’ve got it. I’ll just use one hand.” Now that I’m looking in the back ground I realize that the bigger issue was probably finding a place to put the recycle—ha! I don’t think we’ve ever had that big of a pile in the recycle bin.
This is where the girls spend the majority of their day playing. Elna is so imaginative with play food and brings me food often throughout the day to try. Harriet just loves copying Elna and basically stands there as much as Elna will let her. Oh, how I hope they will love each other like this forever.
